6 Rules to be happy

We define our reality by what we believe and so we define our happiness.
Our beliefs make us who we are and determine the choices we make. Very often, those beliefs, far from leading us into happiness, bring us truckloads of pain and trouble.

Most of us lead a life bounded – restricted by our beliefs and rules that govern our lives. The question here is how and when we define such rules to be happy. And when we start building our beliefs and the system surrounding them. Every kid is born in an environment which consist of living and non-living things. Living things involve close family members and friends and nonliving things include all the things which we see, feel and touch. Also, every kid is psychologically affected-influenced by rules / beliefs of people surrounding it.  During the journey of life, we build beliefs and rules to govern our life.  And most of the times these beliefs and rules takes us to path of illusion / sorrow rather than taking us to path of happy /contended life. Mental Causality – Disturbed Life

When there is expectation, then there is bound to be disappointment.
When expectation is absent, then disappointment cannot come into being.

Whenever there is pride, then there is bound to be wounded pride.
When pride is absent, then wounded pride cannot come into being.

Whenever there is anger, then there is bound to be conflict.
When anger is absent, then conflict cannot come into being.

When there is perception, then there is bound to be deception.
When perception is absent, then deception cannot come into being.

When there is birth, then there is bound to be ageing, decay & death.
When birth is absent, then ageing, decay & death cannot come into being.

When there is craving, then there is bound to be suffering.
When craving is absent, then suffering cannot come into being.

When there is suffering, then happiness cannot come into being.
When suffering is absent, then happiness comes into being.

When this arises, then that also emerges!
When this ceases, then that also ends.

When this is, then that also comes into being!
When this is not, then that cannot come into being.

~ The Buddha~

Four right efforts

1.One should put forth some effort to prevent evil, and prevent unwholesome states of mind from arising.

2.One should put forth some effort to get rid of evil and unwholesome states of mind that are there (have arisen).

3.Put forth much effort to arouse good, and also wholesome states of mind.

4.Also put forth some effort to develop and bring to perfection the good and wholesome states of mind
already there (already arisen).

~ The Buddha

Everything is Changeable – Nothing is permanent

What exists is changeable and what is not changeable does not exist.

Looking at life, we notice how it changes and how it continually moves between extremes and contrasts. We notice rise and fall, success and failure, loss and gain; we experience honor and contempt, praise and blame; and we feel how our hearts respond to all that happiness and sorrow, delight and despair, disappointment and satisfaction, fear and hope. These mighty waves of emotion carry us up, fling us down, and no sooner we find some rest, then we are carried by the power of a new wave again. How can we expect a footing on the crest of the waves? Where shall we erect the building of our life in the midst of this ever-restless ocean of existence? Continue reading “Everything is Changeable – Nothing is permanent”

Absence of Hatred

To promote the spirit of world fellowship we must make the sublime seeds, the seeds of loving-kindness, grow in our hearts and minds till we are all live. To love one another we should realize that we are all brothers, and brotherhood must be applied with justice, for justice is a natural law. No judge has the right to use his power over a criminal to a greater extent than that permitted by the law of the court, which should be the representative of the natural law of justice. Man in the Universe

Long ago man had been seen himself as being in the centre of the Universe, as its most important inhabitant. According to this point of view , the world was made for humans, for themselves to obtain from it what they wanted because they were the most favored creatures on it and everything that existed on this planet was for their sole pleasure.
